Just wondering what type of clip was originally used through this hole to secure the roof clamps? Anyone know? Thanks! Gerry
Thought it would be hard to find the clips in the picture, as the viking clamp is so big - but it got me thinking so ordered these. Should do the job Thanks for the stimulus. (Oh no, that'll start something )
The holes line up so that the roof can be secured with something - whether this was ever provided or not I don’t know (I’ve got a Superviking). However, more importantly I’m my view, once the roof is open, I secure the straight hook thing (that’s attached to the top part) up and away from the bodywork using a clip through the two holes. This keeps it from damaging either the gutter or the riveted lower section on its way back down. (Sorry - very hard to describe but I think a fellow Viking Owner will get it!) By the way - very clean looking hardware. Where did you get your work done? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hi, I bought these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Clevis-P...var=512821518187&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 M5 x 30 changed the r clips to 1.2mm ones.
Sandblasted and primered by me, painted by the guys who did the roof. But give it a few months and the opening and closing will scrape it all off
I'd always assumed the hole was for a padlock, but I push a small section of bike spoke through mine to stop it unintentionally springing open.
I just noticed the thread title and was immediately worried, I had the red pen out and the smiting stick in case any of the naughty boys had been active.
I bought new hold down catches from here and they came with the clips http://www.poptop-parts.co.uk/devon-flse.htm
