What fluid to use for cleanning engine parts

  1. Just want to be able to make a small bath to clean engine parts, any idea's the cheapest products to use
and is a tooth brush the best tool to scrub parts. . . . as in engine parts lol.

  2. I used old toothbrushes and the old petrol I drained from the tank, and autoglym degreaser which was good

  3. Thanks for that volkswombat, just need to find an old container to cut up for the make shift bath.

  4. Well if you going to use petrol don't make same mistake as me and use an old ice cream tub or similar, the petrol dissolves it very quickly leaving the contents free to roam.........

  6. ^ this. Or paraffin from the garage, mebbe? For grimy engine cases, oven cleaner (sodium hydroxide) works well.

  7. 2nd hand dishwasher - not the one in the kitchen ;)
