Please don't answer "wax" Was just wondering if there was a product you could specifically recommend. Hopefully something easy to wax on wax off !
once i had cut mine back with G3 compound i went over it with turtle wax, i've run out of that at the moment so last sunday i gave that MER a try 1st time i used it, seems ok - check my pic's on my thread to see if you like the shine......
Auto Glym products for me. Not always the best but I've never had a problem and apart from the extra gloss protection stuff, it's all buff on, buff off. The extra gloss is a thin wax that needs to be put on cold and left for ages. l didn't know this when l first used it. l had arms like Super Man when l had finished. And Tesco cockpit shine stuff. Cheap and does the trick.
One thing you will notice (well l do anyway) is that the bus is so easy to wash compared to the 504 or the GTi. Polishing it seems almost too easy.
Autoglym Super Resin Polish. Really easy to use, and gives good results. My father used to swear by MER, but I think Autoglym is better...
I havent waxed ours since it was painted five weeks ago and didnt bother before. The other week was reading in the classic car magazine a test on wax (just before falling alseep ZZZZZZZZZZZZ ) and from memory the bilthamber product won their (not my) day. Baz
With ref to MER yes it is called that it's a wax you apply with a wet cloth, i had never used it before but was given it as a gift a while ago and never had to use it because i had always stuck to Turtle wax, but after running out due to polishing the van about 8 times since i had it i found myself having to give it a go, i'm not sure how good it would be on it's own, i suppose with a heavily waxed van anything on top is easy to apply!.
i have never waxed Pinky ... at the moment I am seriously struggling to get all the dead flies off the front panel ..
