What clutch?!

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by Jonboy_t, Jun 16, 2019.

  1. 1.8l type 4, clutch and release bearing are screwed and need replacing sharpish.

Seems there is a 210mm and a 215mm variant for 1.8l engines - is there any way of finding out which mine is before stripping the old one out? Any codes on the housing I should look out for or summat?

I only have next weekend to do it before we go away, so no time to take it out before ordering the new one :(

  2. You’ll need to measure the diameter of the friction plate to be sure.

  3. 1.8 should be 215mm but certain markets like Ozz had 228mm. But any flywheel could have been fitted over the years.

If it is a 127 industrial engine 1800 it will be 215mm.

Be a git. Order all 3 and return the two you dont need, untouched.
