What carburettor is this.

  1. Hi all. I had my cj code 2l engine rebuilt and at the time have had twin carbs fitted. The original varb that came wit the engine has weber Spain 38edf written on it from memory. Is it any good? I'm not really clued up on it but trying to learn. Cheers

If it’s a single centre mount carb it’s not much good - too many changes in direction and too far from the valves. But someone would buy it.

Some hate them. Personally I never had an issue and mine purred. Yes when it was winter it wasn’t the happiest but once warmed up it was fine.

Somebody with a dune buggy might like it better. Away from flying dirt on a T1 engine. Otherwise..meh.
A progressive is a better fit to the engine.. and thats meh too.

Smaller carbs each side much better than a too large centremount.

  5. If you can find out exactly what it says on the carb (38EDF doesnt exist), I can let you know what it is. Most likely it is a 38DGES which is an electric choke version of the Ford 3.0 V6 38DGAS, but let me know what on it and I will take a look
