I'll correct myself :p the protective plate just covers the vulnerable valves, I'm guessing as the cylinder is 10mm thick it wasn't deemed necessary to be protected

I’m preparing to eventually fit this now , all cleaned up and painted ... I’ve been looking around for some fittings to connect the gas line , one thing that I have just spotted that concerns me is the gas pressure , I have a propex that requires 37mbar and I think the westy tank kicks out about 50mbar

Can anyone confirm the pressure of the tank and if I should reduce the pressure somehow?

Ignore that last post , I see you can get fixed regulators , I’ll just put one of these in line and it’ll be right

I was wondering if anybody knows of a screw in guage that can show how much lpg is left in the Westy tank. I have an American LHD and have the adaptor for filling here but I don't want to run out when I need it.

I was also wondering about eventually using the log tank as a source for a heater and again experience of this would be appreciated.

  5. Mine runs my Propex and my fridge, it works great. I've only had the Bus for one full season, 18 months in total. I haven't needed to fill up yet. @pkrboo talked me thru the process at Spring TE, but that was almost a year ago now. I will have to get a revision course when the season starts. I haven't heard of a guage, sorry.

  6. Its worth checking the condition of your underslung tank. I had an original Westy one and happily used to to feed a propex and the cooker, which it is perfect for. A couple of years ago I noticed loads of corrosion around the metal bash plate mount on the tank and got a new tank fitted to be safe. I never found a screw on gauge for Westy tanks but my new tank has one and they are worth having
