FOR SALE Westfalia 'Malaga' Interior, RHD - Late Bay (Dark Veneer)

Discussion in 'Late Bay Parts Classifieds' started by threecountiesdubber, Feb 6, 2018.

  1. *****Update: According to fellow TLB'ers (see below), this is actually a RHD 'Malaga' interior despite the 'Continental' badge*****

Hopefully the photos tell most of the story.

Change of plan means this interior is up for sale, it is the later type with darker veneer and the dark brown edging trim.

The appliances have not been tested but are clean, water pipe and pump for sink should be replaced from hygiene standpoint.

Unfortunately the table and leg are missing, repro legs can be easily sourced and a table top could be manufactured (reproduction of the laminate is readily available).

As can be seen from the photos, the flip out table needs the veneer replaced.

Rock'n'roll bed front board has some scratches on it from careless previous owners and some paint overspray near the Westfalia Werke badge.

Cushion covers could do with a good clean and have some marks on them (plus some rubbing on the ends of the rock'n'roll bed cushions but nothing major). Colours are a mushroom/beige and a dull mint green .... classy.

There are two modern repros of the three-point seat belt riser mounts included in the sale (these bolt either side of the rear bench and raise the inertia seat belt up over the passenger's shoulders). No seat belts included.

Veneer is generally very good but would benefit from a good polish, there is some very slight whitening to some of the veneer but not obvious and only certain panels.

Item located near Hereford (that's near Wales ..... just to confirm), collection only, cash on collection or bank transfer.

You would need a decent sized van to collect the interior in one hit.

    Asking Price: £950 OVNO

  2. I know the badge says Continential but it is a very rare RHD Malaga interior with the 3 knob cooker and the crumpet toaster ..do you still have crumpet toaster ?

  3. I very much doubt it!!

Looks like I need to change my listing

  4. I thought the same as I have a RHD continental and don’t have the head banger locker over the rear bed.
I was very lucky when I bought ours and it did have the crumpet toaster, never used it though!

Sorry to jump on the thread, but if whoever buys this fancies the crumpet toaster, I have one available. I can't find the grill pan, it may still be around, it may not. If and when I find it I will gladly pass it on your way. Thanks.

  11. Silly question but I’m trying to track down the same interior. Did you sell all of it???

The headbanger and spare wheel cupboards aren’t Malaga.

All Malaga’s are badged Continental....I’m pretty sure there is no reference to Malaga in the actual van, it’s from sales brochures.

  14. Sorry, @Andrew Price i bought this one!

@Moons are you sure the headbanger and spare wheel cupboard aren’t original? I wondered if they were optional extras? And yes they are badges as continentals.

Yep I’m sure...what year is the van?

It might be an Oxford....Malaga’s seem to have been mostly on an N plate, some M’s....newer ones are Oxfords.

Unsure if Oxfords had the extra cupboards.

  16. No idea what year van it came out of I’m afraid. It does look like Helsinki cabinets in the back now you mention it, I like it though, plenty of extra storage.

Agreed....the biggest deal if the Malaga was the full width bed, i guess the cupboard alters all that and takes another window out but no big deal!

  18. Thanks for letting me know, I'll continue with my search... Reading what you guys have said about the Malaga's my van is a 1977, so s it the wrong furniture in it????

  19. I’m sure it’s correct, I can never remember the difference between Malaga and Oxford and the years involved. @Poptop2 might know

Late 74- early 76 were Malaga conversions in the UK market. Oxford conversion were after Aug 76. All are RHD.
