Hi, I was a member yonks ago but forgot my details so here I am again, reintroducing myself! I'm Elaine, engaged to Paul and we live on the far west coast of Wales. Paul is Dad to Daffodil, our 1975 T2 Bay, almost 5 years into the restoration. He's also building a 1975 Beetle for me, she's called Cherry and we have a 1972 floorpan in the garage to go with a 1967 bodyshell called Phoebe that's in the garden for his 9 year old daughter! I've wanted a Beetle since I saw the Herbie films when I was about seven and now my dream's coming true. I had to learn to drive a manual just so's I'll be able to drive Cherry - passed my test in May 2010 and she's still not quite finished! Daffodil takes us all over the place but her hardest trip is to the Isle of Man every year for the TT Races with a bike trailer behind her. This year was the only time she's let us down, the engine blew up so we had to buy a new 1641 engine as we didn't have time to rebuild the original one again before the holiday! Needless to say, she goes really well now ;p I look forward to getting to know folks and their dubs.

Hi Elaine and welcome back. We're planning a trip to Pembrokeshire in the Spring - my partner used to be stationed at Brawdy and he's promised to show me the sights plus I have an uncontrollable urge to go coasteering. Would be lovely to meet up if you're free. We're based in Settle so if you're up for the TT races, and you have time to spare, we're not far away from the ferry - well not more than 40 mins away!!!
