Time is limited because of priorities elsewhere, but I'm sloooooowly building up some very basic servicing "skills".
It all started with a just-in-time frayed-fanbelt swap ... then a gearbox oil change ... now rocker cover gaskets and valve clearances.
All very basic to most on here I'm sure, but at least now there's a "trajectory" towards looking after the thing myself!
Next up, reinstate de-ice bits, and supervised change of push rod tubes
    A few months back I didn't now my carb-ar5e from my dizzy-elbow.
Thank you YouTube and TLB! :hattip:

Personally, I’d never done a full blown restoration until I joined here out of desperation after buying a proper bottom 6” basket case. God how I wished it was a carp engine or gearbox rather than that.

Thankfully TLB saw me through the worst of it.

Well done mate. Having the willingness to do it is half the battle. I never really set out to do a full resto but got a bit carried away.

The experience of others makes all the difference ;)
Today was the first time the bus sounded like my first car ... a 1303 You wouldn't think engine note would be such a big deal!

As you know I handed over my "rotten bottom six-incher" to the wrong guy, and bought a restored one on the rebound, along with a not-too-shabby project.
It was always about the design for me, but the "sense of responsibility" for maintenance has been growing by the week
