Weak at the knees?

  1. I've been driving an automatic for the last 10 years due to my creaky old knees being caused pain by heavy clutch pedals in various vehicles.

We're now on the bay camper hunt and would have way more choice if not confined to auto. When we had our '79 Moonraker that was 1600 geared and the clutch was no problem to me at all, mind you that was 20 years ago and I was a young Mum then. But I do remember the clutch being lovely and light.

Being in the wilds of West Cork, there are no T2s around here for sale, nor do we know anyone with one. Would love to just sit in one for a sec and press the clutch pedal and see how it feels to me now. Is there anyone on here who has creaky old joints? ;) Can you tell me your stories?

    Thanks
    Mikki

  2. i have a bad right knee and am having physio on it at the moment - i can handle driving the bus with it - but cant drive the golf for more than 5 mins before it gives out ... but we may be getting rid of that soon ;)

What is it with right knees?? Mine's dodgy but the bus doesn't cause me trouble. Even if it was my clutch knee as the clutch and seating position in that is great. The GTi is ok too but that's had a new clutch.

To be honest the clutch on a bus isn't that bad new or old.

  4. I find the clutch on my van to be fine, as you are pressing it down, more then forward as you would in a car.

  5. my knee problems was a knock on effect from my 5 years of back issues. the muscles in my leg died (due to the nerves being cut off) which in turn resulted on strain on one knee and its 1" away from where it should be ...
