    Hi

As ever, I’m changing my plans again lol. I’ve still got my Mazda MX5 seats that I will modify with late bay bases ha ha ha

But I’m also looking for a pair of captain seats/chairs that will fit/slide straight onto my 1979 bay seat rails.

I’m told by Frank vw bus parts and learn-ed members on here that vanagon, T25, T3 or T4 captain seats will be a straight swap/fit into my standard rails in my late bay.

Looking for a pair of captain seats/chairs that I would like ideally in good condition in brown or tan material. But will buy grey to recover in funky material!

    Thanks

notmlooking for project seats or ones needing a restoration!

If the seats need recovering that’s ok, as I could buy covers etc.

    Thanks

Let me know what you have..

    Thanks

Still looking...seats must slide onto/fit late bay OEM seat rails please.

I’m not looking to drill holes into my bay or Frankenstein any rails for potential seats to fit lol.

I just want to buy a pair of seats that’ll fit or slide straight in :)

  12. I take it you have no bulk heads ?

Hi I still have bulkheads. I don't have swivel bases. I'm intending to fit the seats to the original drivers seat rails and have buttys bits seat rails for passenger to be welded on.

  14. There was a pair on 8090 forum in great condition for £350 thought you might have snapped them up or are you looking for something cheaper

  16. Got a pair in mine on swivels with no bulkheads. Be aeare the seat bases are longer than standard seats. Ie front to back. Im around 6 foot and i think if i had bulkheads possibly the drivers seat wouldnt go back far enough. Just a thought but if you have bulkheads and dont have runners on passenger side then it wouldnt be a biggy to put non vw seats in along with their runners. What years your bus as t25 seats only fit later bay rails.

Mines a 79 late bay, for me the adjustment for the seat base are ok, but would like more back rest adjustment if im picky coz i have a long torso and short legs he he. But it means I suffer from back ache on long journeys. When I picked up our bus Livvy from Durham I was having to stop at every 2nd service station or so lol as my back was killing me

I've bought "buttys bits" seat rails for passenger side to fit late bay seats in.

I'd bought the Mazda mx5 seats and late bay bases to weld to, but whilst the back rears are more supportive than late bay seats (feel like deck chairs lol), I thought the captain chairs would be more supportive.

Both myself and my wife are nurses with bad backs

  18. If im honest fitting the seats has been one of the best mods ive done. So much comfier. I have issues with numbness in my legs aftr driving for a while. Seats have mede a big difference to me. Just powere steering needed now for the bad back and dodgy shoulder and ive cracket it lol!

  19. Just a thought another option is a pair of original isri seats , will fit straight on to t25 runners and ultra comfortable in my bus, or look at American spec t25 seats, slightly different from European ones but the untrained eye would not notice bu far better for bays larger steering wheel, a friend of mine has a set of both for sale but not cheap
