VW Heritage - Rubish after sales - NOT HAPPY

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by mi2itsdl, Sep 28, 2011.

  1. Ordered some wheels for my van. 4 polished 5 spokes. 2 with tyres 185x65x15 and 2 with no tyres as I can use the tyres I already have on my van for the front.

Anyway turned up ok. Put rear wheels on and then took the old wheels and the other new ones to have the tyres swapped over. Left them overnight and picked them up today. All looking good. Paid £25 and came home.

Took front wheel off and offered up one of the new wheels and the idiots at Heritage had given me one with a pcd of 205 :arrggh: All the other 3 are correct !!

Did not notice it before as i had left them in the boxes when I took them to the tyre place.

Called Heritage and they said they would send me a new one and I could give the old one back to the courier. When I said but I need to swap the tyres over again, so this won't work, that sort of throw them !!

Asked to speak to a manager, and this guy called me back. Basically they could not offer me the cost of having the tyres fitted, as they do not do this sort of thing. They could not offer me any compensation for messing things up. Plus they are going to debit my account for the new wheel being sent out, and only give me my money back, when they get the old one returned. I will now have to arrange with them to send a courier to my work, once I have the wheels swapped over, as I can not stay at home and wait for them to turn up.

It is not just the cost that is annoying, it is the inconvenience and hassle these stupid mistakes cause. I am so annoyed !!

He said he could offer me some sort of discount off my next order, but could not tell me what. I have spent over £2000 at there store in the last month, and this is the service you get.

2TD messed an order up that got sent out wrong, and were only too happy to put things right.

JK sent me an item that did not fit, and once again they were only too happy to sort it out.

VWH just do not seem interested at all.

I am so wound up. :arrggh:

But they are sorting it? They offered a replacement with no fuss?

Its not up to them to pay for consequential losses (as you should have checked the wheels before spending money on them...) They've offered a discount on a later order which is more than they have to do.

I've always found Heritage customer services spot on.

  3. I know how you feel, it's a real shame when things don't go according to plan.

However they have offered to replace and give a discount on further goods..

I'd be spitting feathers that I didn't check the wheels first.. Tough learning curve...

Lets not turn this thread into a slanging match...

  4. something similar happened with my old heritage/ssp gas burners they sent me 4x with no tyres as i wanted pirreli's and after fitting 3x tyres to the rims no problems, went to pull last valve into wheel and the hole had been drilled to large and the valve fell straight through the hole!!!! so rang them up they admitted it was there problem and they would send me a new wheel out with the couriers and collect the faulty one at the same time but they only had sets of 4 in stock and no seperates so i would have to wait for 5 weeks for there supplier to send them 1x wheel !!!! and but the collection didnt occur as they collected from my works address and i fitted the tyres at work on the tyre machine but i susspect they would have screwed me on both counts if they had been a issue in my case

  5. Not trying to start a slagging match.........honest.

Just really annoyed that a stupid mistake like this can be made.

I have been really happy with them and all the stuff I have ordered, which was why I was quite surprised that they did not seem to care.

Lets hope when I do order something in the future, they remember the discount promised.

Don't want to come across on the forum as a stuck up nob, but I guess you all know how it feels when things go wrong

  6. So let me get this right. You put a tyre on one wheel that was too big, because VWH sent out the wrong PCD sized wheel? They sent you 4 wheels of which only 1 was wrong? Personally, I wouldn't have noticed the wheel was the wrong PCD before I fitted the tyre. I'd guess the majority of folk wouldn't notice either. If I were running VWH I would refund the cost of fitting and removing the wheel (on supply of invoiced evidence) and not charge you anything for sending the correct size as you ordered. They're the one's who've made the mistake and you would be well within your legal rights to claim compensation for costs incurred as a result. I agree. Poor customer service.

You wouldn't! They always say no responsibility for consequential losses.

  8. Im surprised the tyre fitter didnt pick it up! there is a big difference between a 112 and a wide 5 you would have thought they would at least question it :-
