It is a real pleasure to announce a new show to the VW calendar. We have teamed up with York Raceway to bring you ‘Volkspower's Powerfest’ which will take place over the spring bank holiday in May, from 24 – 26 May 2014. THIS IS A NEW SHOW AND IS IN ADDITION TO VOLKSPOWER AT REDCAR WHICH WILL TAKE PLACE IN JULY. It has the huge attraction of the drag strip where people can watch racing and even run what you brung. We aim to deliver a high quality entertainment package alongside and provide a great weekend for families with the added attraction of some high octane petrol action. Just over 3 weeks to go until the gates open on Volkspower’s Powerfest first year at York Raceway (Saturday 24 – Monday 26 May 2014). We are genuinely excited in bringing this show to York Raceway and along with the Raceway owners we are hopeful it will become an annual event. What can you do to help – 2 simple things - 1) Come along and have a great weekend and 2) spread the word to all your buddies and get them to come along as well. We are open to weekend campers (Saturday and Sunday nights), Sunday only campers and day visitors on Sunday and Monday. Discount prices are available for those who purchase tickets before 19 May. What can you do over the weekend - Saturday – For campers only (NO DAY VISITORS) – Live music in the marquee, traders, catering, on site bar and night show with the fire truck. The music will be headlined by the Blurb boys given us some top Britpop tuneage with three great support acts in the course of the day. Some rides to enjoy including dodgems and rodeo bull Sunday – For campers and day visitors - Full race programme on the drag strip with the opportunity to run your own car/van (subject to the weather), live music in the marquee, traders, catering, on site bar and night show with the fire truck. The music will be headlined by The Skabeats with their great set of 2 Tone ska with four great support acts in the course of the day. Rides to enjoy including dodgems and rodeo bull. Trackside we’ll also have the jet beetle and wheelie split. The Show n Shine will take place on the show field. Monday – For campers and day visitors - Full race programme on the drag strip and opportunity to run your own car/van (subject to the weather), music in the marquee, traders, catering, on site bar.
