Vanfest - Great Malvern - 9-11 Sept 2011

Discussion in 'Shows Events You've Missed unless you went' started by dean_butler, Aug 10, 2011.

  1. My office is on the main road about 5 miles from VanFest. Plenty of buses driving past now. Been going on all day and I've not been able to get much work done. ::)

  2. A very good show, but a lot less people camping than last year. :)

  3. Thought it sold out?

  6. Great weekend, we both really enjoyed it, facilities and entertainment were excellent. Some great looking vans. Look forward to next year. ;D

  7. A great weekend, lots of vans. Met Chrisradioman and family in the Show n Shine Section. One hell of a downpour on Saturday evening, so back to the van for a change of clothes. Watched Devious and they were awesome again! Walked my lill legs off! Got a new exhaust and heat exchangers, new handbrake cables, new heating pipes so this winter, the van should be one hell of a lot warmer (I hope). I agree with Chrisradioman though - there were alot less campers this time...

I love Vanfest. We had an amazing time and in my opinion the best Dub festival there is.

We where there all weekend camping and was really sad to leave and still miss it. I could have done a few more days easily.

  9. we went on the Sunday only, couldn't get my seats covered in time for Saturday. I wasn't impressed with the 'sold out' for camping either as when we turned up in the morning it was half empty. I'm not normally one to slag off organisers of these events but we stumped up £50 for 2 adult and a place in the for sale swamp, not so much as a show programme, map etc etc etc. Too many dogs, too many dog turds, even indoors!!

But, met a few nice peeps - MrOldbug - sorry mate forgot your name but the coolest van, greatest beard and a cool laid back demeanour.

    (Might) have sold the Riviera

My opinion is that it is now just too big and there is too much catering for the T4 and T5 crowd that its lost its oldskool dub show quality. Maybe i'd think differently though if we'd camped, who knows.

Nice thing was we got some waves from other dubs at a show. I also realised just how crap stock type 1 engines are too
    ;D

  13. Camped for the first time in over 10 years. Really enjoyed it and will do the same next year. Felt a bit less busy than usual. Sunday appeared more empty than Friday & Saturday because everyone took their tents/awnings down early on Sunday while they were still dry.

Did anyone find the Vancy Dress? We tried to enter but couldn't find it or get any info about it from the organisers!
