I know that it's not a Latebay, but can you recommend a good inspection person to go look at a T25 Camper. (It's for a friend obviously). Up in the North M62 corridor.
If you don't know the faults to look for, then pay someone who knows T25 or Bay. Same sort of issues to look for, Rust is the number 1 enemy, chassis, sills, jacking points, rear sills on T25 are structurally important to support the rear suspension arms, they rot and very expensive to repair. If the van has bad rusting, then reject it, unless you are looking for a cheap project. Check out the MOT History online, its easy and will tell you faults identified at previous MOT's. Do you have any pics of the T25 to post up on here. That would get more response. Some folks on here have T25's.
M62 is a long road often blocked by accidents but yes potentially I could depending where, when , I seem to be doing a lot of T25s lately
Just as a warning, this passed its Mot last week, the Mot station welded new rear jacking points on to pass it then it’s come to me for cosmetics!! That’s the good side
[jaw dropped emoji] Surely some of that rust has to be within thirty cm of something structural. How on earth can that be a pass?
I hope they bought that as a cheap van. Cos it’s not gonna be a cheap van anymore, getting that safe and legal. You hope the seller was ignorant of that, other wise they are a proper ahole to sell some one that.
Ah that’s not so bad. I guess if it’s got sentimental value then you can see why they’d want to restore it.
Speak to Union Air-cooled near Haworth. Jimmy and JC will sort and let you know the good and the bad. 01535 957337 Yes you will have to pay for their time but a professional opinion will give you the knowledge before your heart make the decisions rather than your head. Plus knowing the cost to fix will give you the bargaining power required for a deal! R
