  1. Cheers will try that

I've managed to enlist a fellow baywindow nut who is coming along Sunday to check if I've got my valves right

I'll Defo try that check on the exchanger as well zed to check for leaks . As always thanks for the tips

I think you'll have got your valve gaps right. You'd soon know about it if you'd done in the wrong order and assuming not, it's not rocket science to get the gap reasonably close. New engine paranoia makes every sound excruciatingly loud doesn't it?

Also you can get a stick against the engine/your ear/skull near your ear and have a listen for internal sounds.

When I built my 2020cc one, after 50 miles I took it out, off with the heads and 2 barrels and pistons to have a good gander at the cam and followers. I just had to. Nothing wrong of course...

  7. 2.0l type4. Has anybody asked if its hydraulic lifters? If it is set at Cold one and a half turn IN after follower touches valve.
Engine no might help Id if it hydro lifters

  8. Defo solids mate

Just had a mate come round to look over her and found one valve a bit tight

    Rebuild paranoia eh ?

Just been for a 3 mile initial drive and so far so good
