Ullswater - Side Farm

  1. Great campsite on the banks of Ullswater with spectacular views.Whilst the site gets really packed and is on a 1st come 1st serve basis in the summer months I found I was the only visitor they had in early October last year ,the weather was unusually superd although cold at night as no electric hook up on site (although I was near a laundry/toilet bloc that had 3 pay washing machines with duel points and one night a small motor home came and hooked up to them!) plus I didnt have thermos screens at the time.
The sites really slopey as well so bring chocks.
It was £7 plus £2 per vehicle.
Amazing walking and the drive via Windermere on the Kirstone pass is unforgettable.
    Hope to go back soon.

  3. Wow, how beautiful is that!!! Thanks for posting such lovely pics, I'm now planning on how we can fit a visit in here next year

Surely that second pic would have been a candidate for the calendar if we hadn't already voted 8)
