the original seatbelt I have that came with the bracket measures 256mm

the closest i can find is a 270mm one, these are new and original fit in the UK to VW

if you have a bed the webbing receiver is more practical

  5. Sadly got sidetracked trying to get my van through it's MOT this week and so haven't got to fully fitting the rear seatbelts.

I did try putting one of them in place and it all fitted really well, however the belt I got is a really a front one and so would generally never roll in as far as it does when fitted with these brackets at the back (due to the shorter reel to pillar loop distance), and so because of this the webbing when rolled on to the reel comes out further than the side of the reel casing so once fitted tightly to the bracket it won't roll in far enough to pull the belt tight when not being used - so it flaps around a bit when not in use. Don't think this is going to be a show stopper though - if it really annoys me flapping too much when not in use I will just do the belt up.

Hope that made sense! Will confirm more on how well they work when I do fit them properly - and add a picture or two.

The belts I got are the Securon 500 ones - I got the 500/15 as it was the cheapest, however I already have some of their buckles with webbing and so will be using those instead of the metal stalks it came with, so effectively I've using their 500/W ones.

    http://www.securon.co.uk/seatbelts_layouts.htm

The reason I went for these was because they are the vertical only ones rather than the adjustable angle ones (vertical only is perfect for use with these brackets) - this means the reel base unit is smaller (the adjustable as well as having a slightly bigger reel unit has an extra knob on the side for setting the angles) and so it fits by the side of my side Westie cupboard better (I've modified my cupboard to make it slightly shorter to reveal the seat belt mount holes) and also looks neater as it's more compact.

If you don't mind the slightly bigger reel units (and it really is only slightly bigger!) then I think their 264's would be perfect. With their slightly bigger reel size and slightly shorter overall belt length they should reel up the slack fine when not in use, and they also come with the webbing buckle which you really need for the rear seats. If my 500's turn out to not work well enough then these will be what I try next!

I bought them from http://www.kcpcarandcommercial.co.uk/ - after searching around found them to be the cheapest, and they were very helpful when I phoned them and had very quick delivery.

One thing I have found is that I'm going to have to get some shorter bolts for the top of the brackets. The seat belts come with enough bolts, however the shortest one is still really too long for the top of the bracket and pretty much hits windows when done up leaving no space for the curtain to go behind.

Will update once I've either put them in properly or done more testing with them.

  8. Hi David, do you have another full set available? i.e. both sides, with covers. If so, I'll take a set.

  9. I cut one of the bolts down to fit into the top bracket hole so that it didnt hit the glass. This allowed me to get the curtain past. I used a really fine toothed hacksaw blade. I put one of the nuts onto the thread first so that as i removed the nut it cleaned up the thread.

  10. Good tip, think I will look at doing the same

  12. I'll take a drivers side mount and a cover pretty please?!?

  13. I have fitted a rear 3 point belt in the back of mine and am debating whether getting one of these will help or hinder me in my problem.

The reel i have isnt long enough to go around my car seat the way it supposed to, i have an extender strap attached to the buckle webbed section which isnt quite extended all the way but only just allows me to fit in the belt, so my question is, if i get one of these brackets, will it raise the reel up even furthur, using more of the reel, resulting in even less length to go around me and making it totally impossible with the car seat, i will take some pictures to explain my point clearer if its a bit vague, sorry but its midnight lol zzzzzz

    Thanks :)

PM me where you want money sent

  15. Finally fitted mine on Sunday - they are great.

Will post some pictures and a write up of which belts I used and how well they fitted etc. later.

Am very pleased with them and took my kids out for their first drive in the van very happy about how securely and safely strapped in they were at the back.

the one that came with the original bracket was 256cm plus the receiver , the ones I can find that are closest are 270cm, it could go round me twice almost :)

  19. just measure its only about 200cm in length, would JK have sent me the wrong one do you think? I dont think I have the box anymore :(

That sounds way short, maybe fine for the front, measure the front to compare the length
