Im planning on blocking off the fuel pump mount on my type 4 motor..

Is it as simple as putting a blanking plate on or do you have to put the pushrod back in?

  2. Just the blanking plate.. the push rod is oiled via a tiny hole in a phos bush, so you don't get a massive pressure drop by removing it :)

  3. Do not put the pushrod back in, remove it and blank it off.

We have type 4 mechanical pumps in stock so no need to block off and go electric if you dont want to ;)

  5. Am looking to go electric on our 75 type 4 and would like to know when blanking off old fuel pump if push rod should be removed or not VWH website state:

"You will need to shorten your Fuel Pump Push Rod by approximately 20mm and keep it under the block off plate. It is important to check for clearance once you have shortened the rod."

Others including @Paul Weeding and @Alex VW Heritage above say not ............................so ????

  6. I havE no idea why you would leave it in place. It makes no sense.
