I could suggest a few things, but to be honest they are things that Classic & Race, would have already looked at I'm sure.
Currently 009, I had a vacum advance before and there is/was no difference between the two. Still flat with both.
choke is way too small... inlet valve is 37.5mm... so you either want a 34, or 36mm choke in there... are the carbs new or 2nd hand, if they're 2nd hand were they running ok for the PO? if they've sat around for a bit the small galleries on them furr up, and stop fuel from flowing through them correctly!!
Now i don`t know much ! but i thought larger vents are fine for high reving lighter cars but for heavier cars where more low end torque is required then you go smaller ? I`m a bit of a 009 hater as well and would swop for a know working vac advance but then i know squat ;D
indeed that is the case, but type 4 engines need to breathe... I've run 28 vents in 40s on a type 4, and it hated them.... ran like a dog I'd a spare pair of 44s, chucked those on and it ran sweet as a nut
Like joker said , i wouldn`t say a hesitation was running sweet , I don`t know much about webbers but with dells upping the main jet size would cure this or the pump jets arn`t squirting . My money is dizzy and jet sizes
Maybe but a type 4 2l with twin solex has two vents not 4 and what size are they ? trial and error . I know that the smaller the vent size the higher the air speed /velocity will pull more fuel and atomise fuel more efficiently ? what about air correction jets . perhaps its overfueling ?or too small idle jet .would off thought the rolling road guys would of sorted this .. hope he gets it sorted as there is nothing more anoying
