So as above was wondering haw many have plummeted for a Scat C25 on a standard type 4 2.0 build and found the standard valve springs to be ok?
Jim recommended single HD springs when I fitted a C25 to my 2.0l. And John at aircooled.net says ‘HD Springs are required!’ If standard springs are not coil bound at full lift you might get away with them but the C25 has more lift than a standard cam and standard springs may not keep the followers on the cam at high revs - you really don’t want valve bounce to limit engine speed. Springs are cheap.
