Trouble retaining new sliding door interior panel

  1. Has anyone here installed new reproduction sliding door interior panels on their late bay Westfalia? I'm talking about the woodgrain laminated panel that covers the inside of the sliding door, held in place by small black plastic snap-in retainers. I've had terrible trouble getting either original VW or new repro retainers to snap in or stay in place. It seems like source of the trouble is the new repro panels are thicker than the originals were.

Anyone else had this experience? What was your solution?

  2. So no one else here has installed one of these?

Not a westfailia, but I had trouble fitting a plastic cover, it kept popping off in the end I used chrome screws with chrome cups, but you probably want to do it as it should be done, the correct way, I'm only good at the Bazza way
