So it seems most of my photos are of people drinking shots or pulling silly faces but here goes anyway. I got about 20 miles from home and heard a sort of scraping noise when I pressed the accelerator, so I pull over, open the engine hatch and it's smoking. Being a bit paranoid about smoke after my Beetle caught fire last year, I really don't want to risk it. So, what to do. Do I get recovered home and go in the Beetle? But then I'd have to put a tent up and I don't have Homestart so the bus would be stuck at mine. This is when having 2 lots of breakdown (years of riding scooters to rallies) finally pays off. Get recovered there and then use the other breakdown on Sunday to come home. Sorted. So what else is there to do but wait and get drunk in the sunshine. The recovery boy is very nice and lets me smoke and drink and makes frequent bathroom stops for me. The only photo from Friday night, @Silver dog Ted's first birthday Saturday night in the Northern do Betty Rubble and @Row The first Tropical Sourz shots... ...didn't go down too well
@Barneyrubble's thoughts on shots This lady is lovely and is a serious mover @TomEv86, Betty and Barn
Contemplating a Da Vinci master piece in the corner Just seen a scary ghost Sad face Happy face Barney's bottom
I left the camera unattended for a couple of mins so I assume this @TomEv86... ...And this is @Barneyrubble. It could've been worse I suppose Back at the campsite @WoodyLubber and his mates have a bit of a bundle All Woody's mate was trying to do was a have a little lay down on the bean bag
Tom joins in And home time Recovery turned up pretty quickly, got the bus dropped off at my mates who'll sort it out, about 15 miles away, so I had to butter the driver up to take me home. But he was a nice boy racery kinda guy, so we just chatted car modifications most of the way back. Great weekend with lovely people. Special thanks to @zed for answering my questions. Mrs @MK-Bay for giving me a purple hot water bottle. Betty and @Barneyrubble for feeding me and being my drinking and dancing partners along with @TomEv86. And @Row for being Row.
Cheers Para. Unfortunately this means I can't make Techenders now. Which is a shame because I'd decided to go and had started sorting out what tools and stuff to take. Hopefully I'll make the next one.
Fab pictures! Great to meet you and glad you made it home OK. Hope it's a quick fix. We were ready to form a 'guard of honour' and wave you off as you were carried off past the clubhouse... but then realised the exit was the other side of the field so we missed you completely!
No worries hun Ive not been to one yet and ive a clutch to change on the daily before i set off We all will cross paths when its the right time
Nice to meet you and your lovely wife too. The hot oil smoking on the engine is straight forward, I was getting that fixed next week anyway. The noise from the accelerator, who knows! I know, I was hoping to see you all as I went past on the way out, then realized the same thing!
