  1. Hey team,
we're planning a trip to Norfolk for Easter..

Wondering if anyone has been before and has some recommendations.. Must sees. Great campsites etc..

I've heard the Norfolk Broards are lovely, but they cover quite an area, so any more specific guidance would be great

We don't want to spend the whole time driving. Probably heading for two nights from London, maybe 3.

    Thanks in advance

  2. oh -and out doors, nice campsites, beautiful vista's, small towns, country pubs is our aim, rather than cities and theme parks

  3. I'm originally a Norfolk boy so can probably help you out a bit! :D

If you are driving up from London, which I guess you are, take the A12 and stop in Southwold on the coast in Suffolk, home of the Adnams brewery :D Really nice little village but not sure about campsites round there.

From there head up to Yarmouth and have a go on the slot along the front and enjoy the beach. Loads of camp sites in and around Yarmouth.

From there you then have access to all the broads which as you say are really nice. Head inland to Norwich and visit the Woodfords brewery (really good restaurant).

From there drive up to Wells, Cromer, Cley etc, enjoy the North Norfolk villages (great deli in Cley too for a posh picnic), take in the seals at blakeney point etc, loads of campsites again round here. And then drive back down the M11 on the way home.

Thats a tour I am planning probably later in the summer.

  5. good advice there guys - thank you!

good amount of brewery focus in there dubster! :beer_yum:

And johhny, I'm a big farm shop fan.. love the meat!!

Is there any specific point/place/town/pub in the broards that we should aim for or is it just a matter of going for an explore..

other than that I think we're follow your route!!
    cheers!

  6. Good steak restaurant at filby bridge near Acle. Looks a little, but not too, old fashioned, but service and food is good. Best bet if the weather is nice is to find a good home cooked meal in a country pub.

Have a great time anyway, im actually a little jealous lol!

  7. Oh and had to put the brewery tour in there, its what I grew up with and still my favs. The Woodford one really does good food too!

  8. My folks run a campsite/b&b in north norfolk. A village called burnham thorpe. If you type whitehall farm accomadation in to google you will see thier website.

Village pub, where lord nelson used to hang out with his merry men!, and only 2 miles from the coast. Wells next the sea is 4 miles. Holkham estate is next door. Very nice spot!!

  11. We did a week in North East Norfolk last year (Kings Lynn and up). Fabulous place, great pubs, scenery like Old England. One of the most charming parts of England IMO. Can't go wrong, just don't expect to go fast - but then you are driving a bus!!!!!!!
