I'm looking to invest in some kind of "off the ground camp fire". I've seen those "tripod bowl fire machine" things, but are they too bulky? Any suggestions for a nice fire that's off the ground so campsites will be happy?
We got a cheap fire bowl from the local camping shop, but they have them everywhere in the summer. It cost less than £25 from what I remember and we've used wood and charcoal in it. The legs fold flush to the underside of the bowl so it's great for storing under the camper when not in use. Most campsites can be a little sniffy about burnt grass and the heat that's thrown off most pits will scorch the turf, so we balance it on bricks to raise it higher
