Im nackered!! :- My mate has a 78 Auto bay in his yard the body is in a right state, I came to an arrangement with the owner and as I have a 73 auto camper thought it would be handy to have a spare engine and gearbox, I needed it out sharpish but me crewie which I need to move it on is off the road as the bottom end went bang. The same mate had a 1600 lump in his yard so I stripped it, the float was good so over the weekend I replaced the big end bearings and put 1641 B &Ps in and me old top end which was OK. The new (to me) engine had been open to the elements and had a budlia growing in the intake, the barrel was full of roots!!! Found why it stopped So I started early today, got the 1600 engine in to the crewie and got it running, drove it to me mates and took the 1800 Auto engine and box out as one It weighed a ton, now its on me drive on the back of the truck, Im nackerd and its too heavy to shift on me own. Might go the pub!
