I've got this for my van buts it's too shiney. Any ideas to matt it nicely? It's stainless steel and I've got a few spare bits to practice on. Ta.
Wow that's a lot of ideas! Got to be an even finish and I want to be able to do the uneven surface of the cooker as well, so sanders are out.
battery acid works well will dull it off and give it a goldish finish tyr it in an unseen area first though and you can polish it bakc up if you dont like it
Stainless steel contains chromium and oxalic acid will react with it to produce a matt finish. I've not tried it but it's used in the cutlery industry. You can get it as wood bleach. Needs to be well diluted.
Diluted Sugar Soap & wire wool, spot on Then put the old faithful WD40 on a rag and wipe, custy..........
