I've been servicing oil boilers for over 15 years, I've recently completed my 6000th oil job. I just can't work out how you can have a leak of 200 litres in your house in 24 hours. It must have been pouring out somewhere. I can't understand what someone could do on a basic service that could cause this amount of fuel leak that they didn't notice. Stumped of Dunstable
Not wishing to put a downer on things but if it actually is a 200 litre spill and it's in your house. I hope you like hotels......... For extended periods No need to hug me.
Sorry I missed this yesterday I was fishing, mind you you lot are usually a day late or if at all @Merlin Cat or @Merlin Cat1 ( I'm not sure which one you are these days)and @jivedubbin big hug To you from me
The boiler was serviced and a flexi fuel pipe replaced. The oil tank was low (6-8" I have a dipstick) and there wasn't enough pressure to push through the oil (the pipework airlocks easily) so the engineer said I needed to order some oil in which I duly did. The oil was delivered at 11am while I was at work, when I came home 9 1/2 hours later I found the oil pouring out because the flexi pipe was the incorrect fitting at one end.
Thankfully the utility and hallway are tiled and the utility has a drain (to a septic tank) which prevented it going much further so I am just living with all the windows open now. Its chilly.
