When was the last time you went a whole day without buying anything? In this day and age, is it actually possible to buy nothing for twenty four hours? Supporters of ‘Buy Nothing Day’ think it is. And what’s more, they think we should all try it. At its core, Buy Nothing Day is a protest against the consumerism the organisers felt was necessary in our world, governed by the need to “have things”. Unless you want a Pickup of course
I shall endeavour to buy nothing despite tempting offers from various tool and consumables suppliers arriving in my Inbox. Must think I'm made of money
I nearly bought a tyre was suppossed to be in last Friday ,gave him a week cos he is a bit unreliable ,he mentioned in his excuse something about x mas holidays.. he said next wednesday ,I am going to leave it till after christmas... very funny @bernjb56
I'm with you. http://sethgodin.typepad.com/seths_blog/2015/11/unconscious-consumption.html Have a read of this, pretty much sums up how I feel bout Black Friday. Cheers
I haven't bought anything at all today so far! Not going out tonight and I know what's for tea. I might just do it! Actually, thinking about it it isn't uncommon really. I bought a bottle of milk yesterday but cant recall buying anything the day before.
Agree, you'd have to cancel your mortgage, insurances, utilities, broadband, mobile contract etc etc for a day. Very very few people in the 1st world pay zero, zilch, nada, nowt, nothing in a day...
