Awkward moments happen all the time, and to some folks more than others. For anyone who’s ever wished the ground would open up and swallow them, Awkward Moments Day is a celebration of all awkward moments. From walking out of a public toilet with loo roll on a shoe, to realising you’ve been speaking to someone everyday for a year, and don’t know their name, life is full of these moments. I've had few of those in my time most recent was stopping someone in the street and chatting away when after a few moments realised they didn't have clue who I was and me apologising for being such a plum
I had this the other day. Guy at work asked me "How's that band of yours going". Assuming he was talking about the band I was in last year for my mates wedding I mentioned it was a one-off for the wedding, but that I'd like to get another going down here at some point. Walking away I wondered why he looked so blank while I was talking to him, then I finally twigged he said "How's that van of yours going"! Oops.
Only a matter of time before you start saying "Huuurraaaagh" when you climb out from under the van, I reckon . Comes to us all...
My daughter announced that she forgot to lock the toilet door on the train today, and it was one of those big electric ones that opens and closes in slow motion..... it was definitely a long awkward moment when someone pressed the button to enter the loo!
