Tinware

  1. Tinware for a type 4 is hard to get as no-one has invested in making pattern parts, unlike the luck 1600cc lot. So I am doing up my engine tinware (it's not too bad apart from two screws rusted in permanently) while I wait for the other parts I need. BUT what about seals? Some can be replaced by standard grommets. Has anyone found a source of rubbery bits?

  2. Vehicle Wiring Products have a fine selection of rubberwear :). Just plain grommets & bungs shouldn't be too hard to find - try Halfords.

  3. Thanks for that. I'd forgotten about Vehicle Wiring Products, I've used them before.

  4. For the grommets I was missing, I used some black rubber type micro bore pipe type insulation. The type air-con guys use. Slit it down the middle half way through and wrapped it around said holes. Cheapie way to do it as well. Free off site :)
