Whats the stupidest thing you’ve done whilst working on your bay??

I’ve just done an oil change (20w 50 before anyone asks ;))
Finished off an old can of oil and opened a brand new van and topped up..

Poured the old oil into partially used can instead of the empty one:rolleyes:

I once worked on my bay dressed in a clowns outfit, the spinning bow tie was no problem but the big feet were murder when I was working on the front nipples:thumbsup:

Only joking , I was wearing my trainers:p

Not happening again ... and maybe I should add that this was NOT Ron in Wiltshire or Jeff in Bristol!
Wish I'd met the former sooner and glad I met the latter when I did ................

    Reversing is our nemesis.
On "take your VW to work day" I took ours on a "daily" type trip into town and reversed into a big fat railing that was there to stop people driving into a brook by a car park ..... Clearly not big and fat enough for this fool

I failed to pay attention to the reversing sensors screaming at me. I was more worried about hitting my neighbours BMW M3.

Did an oil change and slightly overfilled it. Decided to drain a bit out, so put container underneath. Undid drain plug, dropped it into container now filling with oil. Tried to retrieve drain plug, meanwhile knocking over container. Finally managed to get hold of plug and replace whilst lying in a rapidly spreading pool of oil.

  13. Just been treating a bit of rust on the rear hatch with it 3/4 open to bring it up higher - then left the rust treatment to dry - walked back 20 minutes later and went round it and cracked my forehead open on the edge of it - Owwww

  16. Forgotten I had an immobiliser and worried about why it wouldn’t start. The flashing red light should’ve given it away and the fact i had it fitted about ten years before! Oops.

Set fire to it turning over without a carburettor to check oil pressure just after putting the engine back in.

Left the flywheel nut loose when I went to have a cup of coffee. Put the clutch on when I came back. It fell off 40 miles later.

  20. Undoing the fuel hose connector at the tank and with half a tank full and not having anything to drain it into....a big mess of fuel under all the cars on the drive before I could stop it and being drenched in the stuff didn't help either..
