Broken stud...no problem! I usually weld a bump and place a nut over it and fill with weld! The heat from the welding usually makes things work. Took a few tries but it got the message.

Managed to cut out all the inner rust and replace it with a heavier piece ( with the engine out of the way)
.The replacement has surface rust but it'll be oil sprayed after it's all welded up through a few well placed oil spray holes...

Anyone with a link to how to do engine bay wiring harness stuff, tidy, make it work kinda things......would be most helpful..

I’d clean up all that surface corrosion and get some paint on it before you fit the outer panel.
You want a belt and braces approach to corrosion protection
Cutting corners now will come back to bite you in the arse at a later date.

 

How bad is it? On ours I just cleaned up the wires and replaced some of the ends that had been bodged in the past
