Trick photography! The slider has a lot of repair, it's a bit wobbly reall and so will the rest of the bus be, I'm on a mission with little time to mess about. :D

The finish is ok, hopefully it'll have settled down a bit more by tomorrow, pics were taken an hour after painting when I pulled off the masking tape. I love 2-pac paint. :).

  2. As you may know, mine needed the usual repairs and were a bit wobbly under the filler. Took me a year to get mine looking resonably flat, so I know were you are coming from on your tight timescale. Good luck with it. Will be following with interest.

I've already done most of the prep - weeks of it. I'll probably get away with flatting high build primer for what's left, I've got loads to use up. :D

I do need a couple of pieces, hard to describe one of them so I'll take some pics. The other is one of the main shrouds but can't remember which, I do have one but it needs work. The heat exchangers I have are original, but knackered beyond my patience, not just the outer skins but the flanges are rusted away too (and the wrong head fixings). Shame! Think I'll save money and fit tubes instead for now.

  5. Where do you get reasonably priced tubes Zed, all the ones I can find are £400?

I have a spare piece at work, goes behind #3 barrel below the top shroud, yours if you need it. I'll find a pic later (I'm on the iPad at the moment)

Got that one, but the same one other side is very rusty and could do with replacing. I did have spares but sold them to @1973daisey - what a twit!
Likewise the head shroud, I had a really good pair but one has disappeared.

@zed do you want the heat exchangers off of my bus? I 'think' they are originals and only have a couple of holes in the shrouds. I have a NOS set that I bought from Paul a 18 months ago still sat in my garage waiting to be fitted to mine.

you can cut the oval port off and it fits the flush heads fine.
i've got some j's or hx's you can have if you can put up with triangular exhaust outputs - you could cut them and weld euro on - or i've got a scabby empi exhaust. all foc to you.
