Yes, three times in one day not only that but the same bl**dy journey!! What a complete and utter Numpty! I decided NOT to pull over at a garage and fill up coz I needed to get to my second job ASAP which was close-ish to home. Bad mistake, Had to walk 2 miles into nearest village to the local garage that no longer sold fuel but the nice owner gave me the dregs from an old tin about ½ a litre’s worth which got me 3 ½ miles from home then another brisk walk back home to the garden shed. BU**ER, can was empty-had to tip lawnmower upside down to get approx. ¼ litre out. Briskish walk back to the bus(getting rather tired now) off again and stop again, 1 mile from home-what the hell am I going to do! My little girl needs to be picked up from school, my two older boys are at home probably wrecking the place (teacher training day) and the wife’s at work 20 miles away. As I headed off again with can in hand, and at a weary pace, I heard a toot toot behind me, a man in a Transit based camper van pulled alongside me and said “ I’ve been there a few times myself mate, jump in I’ll take you to the nearest garage” Ronnie, you truck driver from Tilbury who lives in his Transit and plays the saxophone when he’s not twitching (bird watching-he doesn’t have a nervous disposition) you have restored my faith in humanity.
