  2. Cheers :) I am very skint but getting closer, definitely aiming for the summer, even if my interior looks like it's from idea for a while!

  3. Forgot this about this part, roof windows in, they were so ridiculously tight that when I was putting the bead strip in it pushed the seal against the edge of the glass so tightly is split it! I had to take window back out and open hole up all the way around by about two mm. It still was so tight to get the seal in but I feel quite glad about that as hopefully it won't leak, not exactly an engineering masterpiece the way water collects on dormobile roof windows. 4. Started building beam back up to find one of the needle bearings was damaged so I replaced it.[IMG][IMG][IMG]
Cleaned up area behind where beam sits and painted with some rustoleum.[IMG]
Also waxoyled this area whilst I had good access.

Got replacement beam all bolted up only to find it needed another needle bearing, frustrating when it's all ready to go back together but it needs it so I'll have to wait. I used a die grinder to grind almost all the way through and then hit it with a punch so the race cracks, this makes it a 5min job to get them out.[IMG][IMG][IMG]

  5. Waxoyled behind steering box area and bolted that back in.

Gave all the suspension and steering parts a good clean and lick of paint, rest assured I will not be rolling my van off a trailer and putting a mirror underneath so everyone can see some shiny parts! They're clean and in good order and not rusty anymore, that'll do for me.

Also cleaned and painted all the pedal parts then fitted to van. I had a good play around with the pedal and linkage behind to get a decent range of movement. [IMG][IMG]
Waiting for another needle bearing then I'm gonna put all the front back together.

  6. Looking good,
what is your side slider window from?

    @optimistic

  7. Schofields, it was a very tight fit at the time of fitting and was a pain getting it in, but once you get it in your glad it was tight :D obviously only because you know it will be a good seal :D

  8. Its specifically for a panel van? (Runs off to search Schofield site...! )

  9. That looks like the one, I've got a factory window door though as the panel converted doors are poor at best.

  10. Aha I see! No slider on tother side then?

All went together really easily, I was expecting it to be hard after some of the talk on here [IMG]
Nice new mirrors too, hopefully they'll last a while

I've heard the hype for silent coat but it really is good stuff, sliding door shuts with a nice solid clunk now

  14. A bad year really lots of ups and downs, I'm separated from wife and divorced, we're both in process of getting our own homes and I see the kids all the time. Rock bottom is a horrible place but a good foundation, now all finances are settled the bay is officially all mine again so I'm picking up where I left off, hopefully be ready for early summer.

Got the engine bay upper panels and fuel tank panel powder coated, I know they aren't original colour but it was free and now they're nice and clean, stuck a few sheets of silent coat under there for good measure. [IMG]
Masked the lower half off after that so I could underseal the rest of van from where I stopped last time, I use underseal with added waxoyl, I really rate this stuff as it never truly sets so any stone chips etc seem to heal themselves and not leave a chip.
[IMG] All the bottom was fully repaired and anything good cleaned up and painted before I applied it, pretty chuffed with how solid, straight and original it looks.[IMG][IMG]
All the brake pipes were replaced next, needed a new caliper on the front and wheel cylinders and new spring kits on the rear.

Loving working on it again after so long.

  16. Good to hear you are back, that's the way life goes sometimes, at least it sounds she's letting you see the kids etc.

Think off all them single women flocking to your new shiny van :)

That is looking absolutely fantastic, I find myself getting all envious when I see people putting their pristine vans back together with all the nice clean shiny bits. I've a good idea of how much time and effort and money you've ploughed into it though and I'm not envious of that. #soonbecampingoptomistic.
