Thanks for that @konaboy6284! They'll make the job of paint removal easier. This weekend resulted in the obtaining of a door checkstrap - thanks Malc (@poptop2) for the tea! It was nice to meet you and yours - and the completed instal of the new accelerator pedal and linkage. When I tested it, the revs barely made it above idle even when the pedal was flat to the floor. A quick check underneath showed that full movement of the pedal produced negligible movement of the accelerator cable. What do I need to do to rectify this?
If the idea is to prevent people outside being able to see into the wardrobe, just cover the window with some frosting or some black. This is what I did where my Devon cupboard is: Great project btw

I think you need to turn the cable end around on the square end one more turn to the front so that it lifts the throttle pedal up a bit
I think I know what you mean - should the plate that attaches to the cable and the linkage have more than one position to be fitted in?

Yes that right if put it back on it should put the arm right forward and lift your pedal up a bit the put your cable back on
But the cable arm won't go back on with the pedal raised further? The squared end is angled about 10 degrees less on the new linkage compared to the old one...
I don't know then but you need to get the cable arm Forward so that when you put the cable back on it lifts your pedal up as it's to low
I have looked at your photos again as you had it but you need to pull the cable tighter that will lift your pedal up as it's 10 degrees out not helping if that does not work you will just have to tie a bit of string on it and tie it other dash
I've taken the new cross-cab linkage bar out and re-fitted the old one. The cable's tight and pulls the cable arm right back to touch the underside of the floor. That's raised the pedal a bit more. When the pedal's fully down the cable arm now moves further forward and I get full revs, but the pedal now locks in that position - have I located it too far forward? Thanks for your help by the way! I'll compare the set up now with my first set of photos in a bit...
Yes if the pedal is to far forward that may make it bind take the bolts out the floor and hold it and try it
