  1. fantastic a beautiful job

  2. Just a little up date, after lots of problems sorting out the old wiring i decided to replace the lot with a new loom from Rapid Fit looms, much better and alot safer than the botched wiring that was in there! So looms in, nearly wired up lights, painted bumpers and starting fitting front one, looks a little bit better every time a bit go's back on!

  3. Wow, very nice work. :)

  4. Excellent job you're doing there. The new loom seems like a good idea, did you fit the standard loom or did you get any customisation done?

  5. Cheers Owen, I used the standard modular loom made by Rapid fit, i did ask for a split charge relay for a leisure battery. the loom comes wired for reversing lights, fog lights, rear heated glass plus xtra wires for anything you might want to add. Electrics are not my thing but even i managed to remove all the old wiring and fit the new in a day and a very neat job it makes of it all. i've got one small problem with a wiper switch thats blowing a fuse to investigate but everything else seems good. Its not original but i'm aiming for something that looks retro but isn't dated for todays motoring hence the unleaded engine etc.

  6. Yesterday we fitted the front door trim, scrapers new Ali Quarter lights felts etc, never done it before and thanks for the tips on the mech section, anyway the job was a nightmare! especially the quarter lights seals in the ali frames but we won in the end and now weve done one it would be a little easier next time we still need to fit the inner scrapers, any tips? please.

the tape on the window is in case i reach in to turn the key and forget the glass!!!! its been so long without it!

  12. I've got the Pop Top painted and on ! to be honest not a job i was looking forward to!!!! Our friend Alan made a new walnut surround that fits to the upper part and we refurbished the original mechanisms, the bellows wasn't really usable so we had a local canvas maker make up a new one and we spent a long Sunday afternoon fitting it all, so here it is, first time for anything! one problem we had was when closing the top the bellows tends to spill into the van a little so we've made a ply pelmet to retain it all and this will be covered in the head lining cloth.

  17. With the Van out of the way i'm finishing the units before it comes back, this is the rear luggage locker with pull out cooker for those "Pop the Kettle on" moments, the other drawer will be for storage. Hopefully the design will work ok in use.

  18. Trying to get everything finished off ready for Stanleys return and the final fit up, so today i gave the Belly pan a good clean up and several coats of enamel to smarten it up a little. i'll re attach with stainless steel bolts.

  20. After a marathon final session with all hands on deck fitting and bolting bits on frantically the Van was ready for its MOT! yes theres still bits to do, trim to attach and rear quarter windows to wrestle with but at 4.30pm yesterday it was booked in. After carefully explaining to take the back roads to the garage and take it nice and steady just in case Tracy heeded my advice and took it straight down the M25 !!!!!!!! ;D

Anyway it passed the MOT with no probs and we all breathed a big sigh of relief! I will upload the final pics when i get off a much needed holiday but for now heres Stanley leaving for its appointment.
