Spray painted white EP121 on the back of the bus with new my devilbiss starting line 1.8 gun
Cool. How did you thin it?
Used the thinners that came with it at 20%, kept the paint warm in the house beside the cooker.
Drove it to the Malverns. Had lunch and a walk up to British camp. Then drove it to Monstay farm in Ludlow, where I am now sat sipping another Perry and watching the sun go down. Bliss
Drove Gusbus to The Duke William in Matlock & met Lowie & Tina, had a good night at the pub, chilled out in todays sunshine and got home about 4pm.
Went to Slapton Sands
Dusted the inside.
Think I've agreed to buy another one

78 twin slider tin top, rhd UK bus, panel conversion by Devon , usual total rot box but all there, part stripped, owned by the guy I rent my garage from. Not seen under it yet cos it's stuck in a corner covered in carp, his wife's told him to sell as he'll never finish it, she's probably right I've seen some of his other projects and he's not the quickest !
Will be cheap
Hopefully it'll be worth saving!
Took the new multivan for a tester trip to Hunstanton and ate chips.
Kids love it and oddly so does the mrs, go figure.
I am just messing hadn't realised there was a passable lookalikey in the rascal making my ruse convincing!
However to pay back my crap sense of humour, my clutch cable snapped today. Drove home clutchless and ordered clutch cable and every clutch cable accessory gsf had, ready to attempt a fix tomorrow. Meant to be camping this week......
and oh dear
Serves me right !
fitted my replacement brackets on the carbs and fitted the hex bar linkage. new brackets are from a type 1 and beetle kit so they sit taller to clear my auto trans fluid dip stick and the throttle linkage. also fitted the firewall back on after changing fuel breathers and sender unit. with foam seal included. hopefully getting the carbs set up tomorrow and get the bus running, then need to figure out a way to attach the throttle linkage to the hex bar linkage... all before friday before its taken away being hired out... no pressure then!
sorted out heater cables and now have heat, fitted sound proofing to luggage box on cab roof, sound proofed both front doors, fitted sound proofing to both doors, sprayed with waxol and fitted new vapour seals , sounds like a golf.
did a bit more on the type 4 build:
modified the type 1 thermostat, mounted it up, set the cable tension ready to test tomorrow
mounted up the alternator
painted the heat exchangers with a VHT paint
That sounds like my kind of mechanicking
Moved it to my house to prepare for weekend at beautiful days festival in Devon
