    That's just a manhole!

  2. Cyril has finally arrived at the site after embarrassing himself twice on the way here, & costing me €250 in garage bills for a dizzy to be cleaned (that wasn't duff and I then replaced anyway) & €65 plus, plus for a new Coil!

Went and collected upgraded foam for the R&R bed cushions - were 3 inch comfort foam, now have another 2 inches of high density foam glued underneath. Now to extend the cushion covers to fit.
Reason was that the last couple of camping trips were a bit uncomfortable. And when they were in use as passenger cushions, they were also a bit thin.

The recently cleaned distributor seems to have fixed the rough idle the bus always had - it would start and run on 3 cylinders until you opened up the throttle.
Unsticking the advance mechanism has stopped the timing from bouncing as the rotor arm flipped backward and forward, because there was no spring tension from the advance mechanism. It used to be a lot easier to rattle the rotor arm back and forward by hand when the engine was stationary - again no springiness for a few degrees.

Hopefully off to Herne Bay for the air show on Saturday..

  5. Fixed my wipers for the second time! Now I'm ready to go camping.... :)

  6. Plug welded in a replacement floor, patched the holes in the replacement floor  (it was still much better than the original) then sandblasted the floor for painting tomorrow.

Not a day I:gnome: would wish to repeat

Random gnome ^ appeared in my tread - I think i will leave him in.

I have driven to a delicatessen in Bromyard. Now sat at campsite in the foothills of the Malverns eating and drinking Worcestershire cider, Worcestershire cheese and Worcestershire pork pie.

  11. Nice, but is a Worcestershire pork pie in the same league as a proper Leicestershire/Melton one and in any case, how does it differ or is it just a faded pastiche of its true master?

    If I am honest. No!

The cheese and cider are very good though.

Unlike the superior Melton Mowbray with its perfectly baked golden brown outer casing encapsulating a rich lightly cooked pork filling that floats in a perfectly clear wholesome jelly. The Worcestershire pork pie is too compact and over cooked. The jelly is Brown and the crust slightly singed. Tastes okay though!

You know not what you miss. T'is the county of the Apple and pear. Coider country flanked on three sides by the Clent hills, Malverns and Clees. The beauty and relaxing air prevails providing relaxation at the first tap of a tent peg. The local Perry of which I am now partaking in the fading summer sun is icing on the cake.

...and some gash bits of rusty crap Devon fitted perhaps as a nod to supporting the bunks...

...repaired the hole on the tin roof at one corner.

Then removed the loose paint and rust and treated right round the roof hole.

  18. Adjusted my clutch @Barneyrubble and replaced a few stickers.

Looked at some camping stuff in the back, left over from Eastnor, but couldn't be bothered to remove it :)
