The Indications are negative.

  1. On the way to the Brecons in some torrential rain this wknd my indicators packed up. The dash light comes on constant when the lever is pushed either way but no lights on the outside... which is rather the point.
Last time it did this it was the relay and I replaced it a couple of months ago but could some moisture through a badly repaired (by me) windscreen surround have got in and knacked it? Any ideas gratefully recieved!!!

P.S Oh and a massive thanks to all who helped out when I was flapping around trying to get Kizbee running. I've had a great couple of months, got to a music festival and multiple camping trips. Sooo good to be back in the old tin can! 20190823_174732.jpg

Sounds like a sticky relay. Mine does this after it’s stood for a while. Quick fix is to put the hazards on for a few seconds.

It usually is caused by leaky windscreens.... if you cant fix the windscreen leak for whatever reason, make a cover of some sort to keep the fusebox dry. You may be able to save the relay by taking it apart and spraying wd40 over it and drying it out.

And drill a hole to let the water out ..

  5. Everything points to a leaky seal , first things to suffer are the indicator and high beam relays . Needs sorting , as well as the relays packing up you`re trapping the water which over a few years will rot out the lip that the seal sits in ....

Best fix is to take to a windscreen place and ask them to shoot some sealant from the outside and under the seal , place i took it to had a `wiggler` to lift up the seal as they ran the gun around , old school and only took 5 minutes .

Worked a treat and lasted 15+ years - 20 quid

  6. Cheers you bunch of beauts! Twas indeed a load of water sloshing about in the flasher relay. Dried out cleaned up and away it went. Now all I need is a dry day to get the leaky windscreen sorted.
