The. Mot system is a farce and basically an establishment, motor industry stitch up on the general public. I sold a car recently that had failed and was beyond economical repair. Sold for spares or repairs and the new owner mot'd it without doing a thing so he could drive it to get it repaired. It passed.

It seems as an owner your supposed to check it every morning. Ok you guys out there who love the rules will say - drivers responsibility. I say what a load of establishment control cock. Why mot a vehicle that does 2k miles a year the same as one that foes 20k a year. You get an advisory and 3 years later it's no worse than it was yet the mot man isn't a happy bunny. I accept vehicles should be roadworthy but that's subjective and the more roadworthy the vehicle ie new the more likely it is to be in an accident. Historic vehicle accident stats are through the floor.
