  1. That`s a cut out panel van hatch , as you`d expect i suppose .
Posting a pic of the window seal from the outside would help

  2. .

  3. Nah, thats a safari window, which is nice but also the reason for the leak.

Wiring caught light, I think I was trying hurry too much getting the camper ready for this weekend - I think it's destroyed the wardrobe unit and most of the wiring for the lights and water.

  6. Oh sugar, doesn't sound good :(

  7. CRIKEY !!
    Two steps back .... :(:(

Good result having the extinguisher close at hand , could have been MUCH worse but glad you`re ok - van can be fixed ....

    :hattip:

  8. Yup - just spotted it on a 2nd browse , seems to be a cut up panel van hatch which won`t help ...
    There`s your leak @Louise .

@Louise ... if it's a safari (opening) window, and if it IS your main reason for a leak I would suggest flogging it (£300?) to help with the leak (top hinge) and put the money towards other work :)

Just cleared up the fire extinguisher stuff - think I got some of it on my chest

Looks like most of the auxiliary wiring has been damaged within the wardrobe/side unit and somehow only minimal damage to the unit - I might getaway with just a new shelf.

Guess what I'm doing for half term next week?

  11. Wow! I thought you just meant you'd set it off accidently! Good job you had it though!

  12. At the edge it looks like fibreglass body filler has been used
Can you take a closer picture of this area
    [IMG]

If it has been filled with fibreglass filler then it would suggest that that area has rotted out which in turn indicates there has been water ingress over a long period of time.

Started the shopping to get the electrics 'fixed'
I already have plenty of cable (1 roll black and 1 roll red)
I've just purchased a new fuse box to try and make things tidier and easier to manage
    [IMG]
Now to just cough up the rest of the Fire Extinguisher dust, rip out the old wiring and start again

I'm hoping it will look half as neat as the picture. It's burnt spaghetti at the moment.

Looks like fibreglass to me as well.
Give it a tap, it’ll be pretty obvious if it is...

Charger kicked in nicely for the leisure and should go on float to top up the main battery later.

  19. What do you mean a cut up panel van hatch??

  20. It’s soggy chipboard! Trust me! I’ve scooped it all up and slopped it into a black bag.
