  1. Does your bus have belly pans fitted?

  2. yes :)

  3. They will need removing to reveal the true extent of the corrosion.

That all sounds literally very cool. I’ve yet to get mine back from its 500-mile post-running-in service to see what a stock cooled newly built 1.8 runs at, but going by my previous type 4 block I reckon about 20c higher than your figures.

It may be a big job when those come off.
    :(:(
The water that went through the floor will have carried on going somewhere:(.

Make sure that your next welder guy has a workshop equipped with sheet metal guillotine and a bender for more economically fabricating sections of chassis..

And that you are prepared for a lot of workshop hours.

When the belly pans came off mine I ended up paying for 80 hours at £50 an hour, plus parts.

Just enjoy the bus and prepare the finances. Until the sills fall off it will pass the MOT..

  8. Have you had them off? Might not like what you find under them.

Put the starter battery on charge - it struggled last time I used it - found load of perished breather hose parts - luckily I spotted them

  10. Think I only have two. The front one has definitely been off but not sure about rear one, but I’ve definitely hit something at some pint as it has a dent in. Oops :)

I’m sure whatever I find will be sortable and if not, then not.

  11. 20190113_163101.jpg Been making a switch/socket panel.

Not totally sure on the layout yet, but it'll be something similar to the drawing.

  12. Good churn on the starter as the carbs had drained down, bit of a spit, then settled down to his rock-solid idle. Then...off, romping along the A303, ears flapping in the wind. Through Stockbrokerbridge, past Jack's Bush and on to Salisburyford. Never missed a beat. Really huge fun to drive these days (although fuel gauge plummets if I put my foot down). Back home, nice drop of plaice and chips. What more could you ask for?

  13. Took it and the brats to the beach for, build a snow/sandman day :)

Avenue Coatings have started doing Rustoleum Kombikolor in spray cans, I thought it rude not to try some out :)

All is good so far, the mix matches brush on, I’m happy..two coats to go!

To RAL numbers definitely I had RAL1028 (in the second image), i bet they would to other mixes too. Not too expensive either, they only do 400ml at the moment though but one can went a long way.
