Fitted a new fan belt...I know it’s not a big job but I’m quite pleased with myself! Building myself up to checking the plugs and points!

  6. Got myself a full rack, not to bad got it off ebay for around 400, only one thing which i had to moan about it was bent at the end, because i was respraying it satt black i bent them back again, i was offered a £60 off. I also riveted the slats onto the frame as well which stiffened it right up. But fitted it was simple and missed the doors when opening/closeing though it is very close. All in all you get what you pay for and for the money its good. [IMG][IMG]

  8. Nice rack! What's the story behind the paint?

    What are those wheels?

  12. Took the sliding door off to replace rollers and then wished I hadn’t as I found this hidden under paper backed bodge.

  13. Rogue Trooper! Love the paint job.

  14. Fitted a new tailpipe in my never-ending quest for Legendary Performance - noticable improvement in speed, possibly due to not dragging a piece of rusty metal along the tarmac.

The old one retro-modded itself to a 3-piece on the French highway last week:

  15. Fitted new front pads as the others made a weird groaning when stopping, looked ok but have changed anyway, tightened the ns front wheel bearing a tad as it had a little bit of play though only 6 months old, settled a bit ??? Adjusted rear brakes, replaced dipstick boot, given the bottom half a T cut and polish with electric polisher.

  16. As everything had broke down yesterday I decided I would have a closer look at the rust by the sliding door

I think it's been done once before

But Mr restoration man forgot to cut out all the old rust....why would I be thinking any less....

Found the M plate, went to the decode website and find out what I knew that it was made in 1979 not 1980 as it said in the log book! Could be tax free a year early!

Nothing...for years...not even motd it. It’s sat in the garden going rusty. Anyone wanna buy it? How’s ok, only done 4500 since engine rebuild. Just don’t use it...

Mine did too when I did the M Plate. The official VW birth certificate didn’t when I paid for that!
