Popped the new lights in that I bought some time ago... not without a bit of typical campervan resistance!

    MOT on Monday

Have the similar feelings about rust as @mikedjames... if she passes, she gets lowered, if she fails, she just gets fixed!

  2. Let's see... Got VWaircooledworks fuel line kit delivered, and removed tank. I'd assumed that because the fuel lines were uncapped and OG fuel cap was fitted (and no key found to unlock it) that it was empty... found it chock full of old fuel and gunk. Yuk.

Left that whilst I considered my options.

Drilled out snapped bail arm on the head, set valves, plug gaps, fitted tinware and reassembled fan housing. Fitted recon alternator and new belt, so all going fairly well - then discovered that neither of the injector fuel rails were in the box of bits that came with my engine...

Cleaned out the locks on the sliding door. Managed to lift the back end of the door a bit with a washer and retightening the bolts holding in the rear hinge with a jack under the door. Now it shuts without a slam.

    MOT passed :)

  7. Took it for a journey to blue and yellow hell (or Ikea as some call it) and stuffed it full of flat pack furniture.

Worked up a sweat so used the new winder mechanism. It broke. Total winds = 2. Cost per wind £20. Windows not even stiff it's just rubbish parts.

  8. Raining today so deco not been out haha! Made this fly screen though seeing as I haven't found one for a Devon. Going to make a sliding door screen too

  11. Changed the front wheel bearing in the rain, it was sat looking at me. I got very wet but at least the wheel does not sound like it is going to part company with the van now !

  14. GSF F.A.G one. Inner outer and seal. Probably only took an hour, spent longer trying to find tools etc.

Yes I had this ... took two new cheesemetal mechanisms.. Second time I slathered the wire/spring in the channel and all of the mechanism in grease and treated it gently, sprayed the felts in silicone made sure it was all lined up perfectly before tightening bolts.... Still going 5 years later...

Drove it to Bristol yesterday full of a flat's worth of possessions, carried them all 50 ft up a fire escape to a top floor flat, .

Oil temp hit 117 degrees on the M4 just before Bristol going gently up hill at 65 with all the junk..

Camped overnight at Mendip View campsite which should be called Glide Path Bristol Airport...

Down to Wells to the Bishops Palace and Gardens, then home.

Think the exhaust nuts are loosening again as it pops and crackles down hill and rumbles on the level...
