Stripped down half a ton of under seal off the poptop frame and started stripping roof rams

Changed spark plugs, for new ngk ones, in in all fairness the old Bosch ones been in for over 5 years, and just a little sooty plus they were made in India, ah see. Replaced manifold boots, and gasket, a pain in the bum to do with engine in, but not as bad as I thought! Tightened up loose bolts, and changed the oil in the oil bath. All done on the drive with the wind and the drizzle.
Still more to do tomorrow, but will update once done.

 

I bought it some bits.

 

after reading threads pumped the ignition with wd40- the lights now work as they should

 

After dropping off some panels at the welder's, just had the latest pictures of progress.

Went to sleep in it in the wee small hours after putting the world to rights with couple of my
dearest friends and listening to said friends farting agreat deal following last nights curry ( mot me though guv)and thenWoke up in it. V ikings ar great for sleeping! 3 full size blokes in seperate beds, beat that Mr Westfalia!

Drove home in it. parked it up! Cushty!

Friday evening , spur of the moment i jumped in the van and went for a drive ..
As night fell i realised the flaw in my `plan` , all the bloody sites were shut in the New Forest so had a spot of wild camping . Put up the new curtains supplied by that talented seamstress @Ermintrude , visited the national motor museum and met up with @scrooge95 to have a look at the Propex she needs fitting at Techenders .
Managed to find a site open for Saturday night and went there as i knew there was a pub next door to watch the rugby - nice one Ireland , you deserved it
Got up late and took the scenic route back to the M3 , no dramas , home by 2 o`clock .

What did i do to my van ??

Took it for a drive and had a great time

Excellent

 

Scrubbed four tons of algae off my poptop.

 

And it was made before the 1st January 1975.

 

Came home early from work and continued to remove the red oxide primer that had been put on by po years ago !

Waxed my poptop with fancy stuff to hopefully keep the algae at bay. Then waxed my legs with it.

 

Did an oil change as well. Replaced filter ditto. Looked at timing and really not sure it's right still. Hopefully seeing @davidoft on Thursday to give it the all clear..
Next stop volksword.
