Temporary rust fix

    ‘‘Tis true. If you see a 1” bubble of rust under the paint, expect at least another inch all the way around it.

    Concrete carries on hardening for a long time.

    As for guerilla rust treatment, I often go for hitting it with a ball pein hammer until I am hitting frilly metal. Then rust converter on the frill. Then slap on filler,with P40 fibreglass / rhubarb jam in resin for big gaps or P38 mud in resin, sand and paint.

    With practice, you can fool an MOT tester with a complete job taking about an hour...

    Which you then mess up by transferring the sticky paint job to your sleeve .

  8. Obviously that's my plan!!! But I don't have the time to do that until the summer, when I have 3 months off. Until then, I work 12 hour days, with 2 Saturdays off a month, generally. Rust gets worse quickly - anything I can do in less than an hour to help slow down the issue.

    The concrete used in the construction of the Hoover Dam is still curing - there you go everyone you’ll all sleep better for that little nugget :thumbsup:
