  3. Hi Folks!! This will be my first time at Techenders and I'm looking forward to meeting everyone ................... if I can get her running well enough to get me there after a lengthy recovery back from Yorkshire to Banbury on Monday ! This is my first van and only just finished a 2 year restoration so very new to all of this.

I'm collecting a full set of ignition spares and randomly swapping things out but it would be great if I can get some pointers on how to diagnose and fix the most likely issues I might come across, plus spares to carry .................... without having to rely on so called breakdown companies who think points are those things you get at the end of pencils LOL!
Plus I'm interested on thoughts about whether electronic ignition is a good idea or not before I go to the expense of that.

I think it will be Saturday before I'll be able to get up there but will try for Friday ;-)

Going to be true to my grumpy self and mention, with love, if you have a dog, that's cool, but please don't assume I will love it as much as you.
And please, please, keep your eye on it so we aren't tiptoeing round the field in order to avoid covering our bus floors with Marmitee :thumbsup::)

I’ve just had the same conversation with Jackie.
Dogs are of course welcome but A) don’t let them crap all over the place B) when they do, clean it up. Not in a minute. Now. C) if they’re going to howl in your vans, don’t leave them in your vans... D) although they’re fine in the bar, keep them out of peoples way. You might love them; that doesn’t mean everyone does.
    Cheers!

  6. packing the van now, looking forward to seeing everyone

  7. The van is going and running OK on the way back from storage. Just need the unmentionable to buck up a bit....

  8. At the risk of opening myself up for some proper ridicule ..................... do you guys bring your wives to this one or will they be bored senseless??
Mines a good egg, if I keep her topped up with vino, and she really likes the VW scene so far................as long as we dont have too many recurrences of 7 hour stints with recovery drivers ;-)

My SO has found the purrrrfect excuse ... Cat sitting for the elder of the juniors.
Our bus is only nominally set up for "camping" so I think I'm the guinea pig
