  1. 'Minty' is the second camper van we’ve owned. We’ve had him for coming on 4 years now, during which we took him from what was about an 80% finished project, to what he is today.

The van comes with a lovely file of receipts for all the work I’ve had done. The list of things I’ve done include:

    - New custom built 1600 engine with balanced SCAT Volkstroker III Counterweighted Crankshaft and lightened flywheel (to enable better motorway cruising speeds)
    - New starter motor
    - Adjustable front beam setup
    - Retro Sound stereo with iPod connection and USB / SD card reader.
    - Kenwood front (inset into front kick panels) and rear speakers (inset into rock and roll bed kick panel
    - Custom made blackout magna-blinds
    - Interior LED lights (roof and footwells)
    - Rev Counter
    - Leisure battery, which powers the stereo and interior lights (for those outdoor party moments without flattening the main battery)
    - Custom ash tray iPhone dock
    - Switchable voltmeter on Main and Leisure battery
    - USB and standard 12v plugs in the rear (next to rock and roll bed)
    - Custom toggle switch instrument cluster (currently controls stereo, interior lights and USB / 12v plugs in the rear. Some remain unused for future appliances).

The van was fully restored (see last photo) in 2010 by the previous owner, who worked in a body shop. The eagle eyed VW enthusiast will see that Minty is actually a “Late Bay”, despite having an “prototype bay” front end. This was a conversion made during the restoration, and one which really improves his looks (I prefer the prototype bay style).

A couple of imperfections include a small patch of slightly melted seat cover on the front seat (caused by a hot floodlight during winter when I was working on Minty in the garage) and a couple of tiny paint imperfections on the front panel, which can be sorted prior to sale if required.

The MOT expires in March 2015 and the van is now tax exempt due to the government budget revisions. He also comes with a 4 layer storm force cover and a EuroClamp wheel clamp for security.

Insurance wise I only pay about £100 a year with Lancaster insurance on limited mileage, so it’s not expensive to run.

Minty is a great example and one of the best you will see on here. Viewing highly recommended.

I am situated in Bramley (Hampshire), so please don’t hesitate to get in touch and arrange a viewing. Cash or bank transfer on collection.

    Any questions, don’t hesitate.

    £14,495 ono

    Thanks for looking,
    Chris
